Studio 477 has been photographing Melbourne weddings since 1980. Sam Vacirca grew up around wedding photography, studied at the Photographic Imaging College, and is an accredited professional photographer and a life member of the AIPP. The studio is a real one, a shopfront in Brunswick West, six kilometres north of the CBD, that couples are invited to visit.

Style & Approach

Natural light and available light wherever possible, with a candid feel that is gently directed rather than left to chance. His own summary: classic, candid and never overdone, aiming for romantic and editorial images that still look like the day you lived. Colour correction is part of the coverage; retouching comes with an album.

Ideal For

Couples marrying in the city and wanting the grand Melbourne rooms done properly; the published work runs through Metropolis, The Trust, the Plaza Ballroom, Carousel at Albert Park and Stones of the Yarra Valley. Also a good fit if you would rather sit down with a photographer, look at printed albums, and decide in person before booking anything.
