Cofield Wines
About
Overview & Vibe
Cofield Wines is a family winery at Wahgunyah, on the Victorian side of the Murray in the Rutherglen wine region and about twenty minutes from Albury–Wodonga. It is one of the few venues in the district that publishes what its spaces actually hold, and it runs weddings the way a family business does — flexibly, with the same team from enquiry to the day.
Setting & Style
Ceremonies happen in the Quartz Vein Vineyard — the venue’s own photographs show white chairs set between the rows with wine barrels marking the aisle, and couples walking out through confetti at golden hour. Receptions go one of two ways: inside the barrel room strung with fairy lights, long tables running between stacked barrels, or outside under the Pagoda Marquee looking over the vineyard. There is also a lawn under umbrellas, a café deck, and Quartz Cuisine, the on-site restaurant.
Ideal For
Couples who want a working winery rather than a purpose-built reception centre, at almost any scale — the published spaces run from 60 in the café to 200-plus on the lawn. It is also one of the more relaxed venues in the database: family-friendly, with lawn games, and well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome.
The Need-to-Knows
No prices are published. The venue offers “a range of Ceremony, Reception & Food & Beverage packages that are flexible to suit your needs”, but the detail sits behind an enquiry form — “submit your details below to access more information instantly” — so both the package rates and any minimum spend are a first-conversation question. Note also that food and beverage packages start at 20 adults, and that the cellar door and restaurant trade seven days, so your event shares the site unless you arrange otherwise.
Standout Feature
The barrel room. Cofield’s own photographs of it — candelabra down a long table, fairy lights strung between stacked oak, guests seated among the working barrels — are the most distinctive reception images in the Albury–Wodonga region, and at 120 seated it is large enough to be the whole wedding rather than a photo opportunity.
