Riverlea Retreat is a five-bedroom house on 25 private acres in the pine hills above the Cudgegong River, fifteen minutes from Mudgee. It is a whole-property elopement venue rather than a function centre: you book the house, and the wedding is simply what you do while you are there.
Setting & Style
The ceremony happens on the lawn — the venue’s own photographs show the homestead strung with festoon lights above it at dusk, a deep green run of grass edged with garden beds and the ranges behind. Elsewhere on the property there is a three-tier mineral pool cut into the hillside, a sunken fire-pit deck, a freestanding outdoor bath on the deck facing the valley, and private frontage to a bend of the Cudgegong.

Couples marrying at a scale most venues will not quote for — up to 35 for the ceremony, ten staying the night — who want the whole place to themselves and are happy to bring in their own caterer. Logan Wines and Skimstone are minutes away, so a cellar-door lunch is an easy addition.
