The Vinegrove
About
Overview & Vibe
The Vinegrove is a family-owned venue on 100 acres at Buckaroo, a few minutes out of Mudgee and three hours from Sydney. Sarah and Tim carved a clearing out of the middle of their own vineyard, put up a marquee and landscaped a courtyard around it, and have been running weddings there ever since. Twenty years of styling experience sits behind it, and the venue does the decorating itself.
Setting & Style
The marquee is the centrepiece — dressed with hanging greenery, festoon bulbs and draped linings, opening onto a grassed courtyard with an open outdoor fire, water features and sculpture. Ceremonies happen out among the vines, under a large tree on the lawn, or beneath an arbour: a timber frame, a wrought-iron arch or a circular hoop, all dressed by the venue. Indoor and outdoor spaces run together so guests can dine and dance under the stars.
Ideal For
Couples who would rather hand the styling over entirely than assemble a team of suppliers — florals, lighting, centrepieces, table settings and setup are the venue's own work, using its own props.
The Need-to-Knows
- Nothing is priced and no guest capacity is published. The Vinegrove sells a bespoke, fully managed wedding rather than a package list — enquiries go through the owners, and viewings are by appointment only.
- Styling and setup are included in what the venue does, not bought in: “We decorate your marquee exactly how you would like it, using all our own props.” That covers floral arrangements, fairy lights, bespoke centrepieces and table settings, plus the ceremony arch and seating.
- The Homestead is available the night before and after the wedding — 2 king zip beds convertible to 4 king singles, 1 king, 1 queen, two bathrooms, indoor and outdoor living areas, and four long lounges that double as beds. Pet friendly.
- For overflow, Kavillo Studios sits next door — four villas built by the owners' son and daughter-in-law, with a discount for the wedding party. It is a separate business on its own site.
- The property is a working vineyard, so the vines are the backdrop rather than a feature hired in.
Standout Feature
A marquee in a clearing cut from the middle of the family's own vineyard — and a venue that styles the whole thing itself.

Price Notes
- NOTHING IS PRICED AND NO CAPACITY IS PUBLISHED. There is no venue hire figure, no per-head figure, no package price, no minimum spend and no guest number anywhere on the site, and no wedding PDF or brochure is linked. The venue sells a bespoke, fully managed wedding rather than a package list, and directs enquiries to the owners: 'Viewings by appointment only.'
- WHAT IS INCLUDED IS DESCRIBED IN DETAIL INSTEAD. From the reception page: 'Whether you envision a grand affair or an intimate gathering, we meticulously curate every detail, from elegant floral arrangements and twinkling fairy lights to bespoke centerpieces and chic table settings. We take care of the entire setup, ensuring that the decor is not only visually stunning but also deeply personal and reflective of your unique style.' And: 'Our dedicated team handles all aspects of your celebration, from the setup to the final toast.' From the about page: 'We decorate your marquee exactly how you would like it, using all our own props and loads of time, energy and imagination.' The ceremony page adds that the venue handles 'setting up the ceremony arch and seating to arranging exquisite floral decorations.'
- ACCOMMODATION IS OPTIONAL AND SEPARATE: 'Elevate your wedding celebration with optional weekend accommodation at The Vinegrove Homestead... Available for booking the night before and after your wedding.' No rate is published for it either.
- OVERFLOW ACCOMMODATION IS A THIRD-PARTY BUSINESS: 'Kavillo Studios is conveniently located right next to The Vinegrove and features four beautifully crafted villas... Mention that you're part of the wedding party for a special discount.' It trades on its own domain and is not part of The Vinegrove's own offering; no figure is published for it here.
