Shoal Bay Country Club sits on the shoreline of Shoal Bay Beach at the eastern end of Port Stephens, where the bay turns turquoise and Mount Tomaree closes off the view.

Setting & Style

Three spaces carry weddings, and they are deliberately different. Mermaids has been renovated with a Mediterranean feel and opens onto a weatherproof alfresco area strung with festoon lighting and pure waterfront views, taking up to a hundred and fifty for cocktails. Atmos was designed and built in Greece — seated for a hundred and eighty, it is the one that makes guests feel they have landed in Mykonos, with Greek menus to match. The Cane Lounge is the bright, casual room, bifold doors to the alfresco and the bar a few steps away, for eighty. Ceremonies happen at any of a dozen spots around Shoal Bay, all a short stroll from the reception.

Cocktail package $165 per head (8-piece roving canape package including 2 substantial, 5-hour standard beverage package, wedding cake cut, plated and served, tea and coffee). Alternate serve package $175 per head (two-course alternate serve menu, 5-hour standard beverage package, wedding cake cut, plated and served, tea and coffee). Upgrade to a 10-piece canape package including 3 substantial canapes for an additional $15 per person; upgrade to three courses for an additional $10 per person. Experience stations: oysters $25 per head, seafood on ice $40, paella $28, grazing station $35, slider station $18, dessert station $18. Beverage packages: standard included, Premium +$15 per person, Deluxe +$25 per person; spirits upgrade +$28 per person for 4 hours or +$38 for 5 hours; a glass of Veuve Clicquot on arrival or with speeches $22 per glass. His and Her Cocktail Station and Gin and Tonic Station each carry a $300 setup fee for one hour of service, minimum 60 cocktails, with per-cocktail pricing on request.
