Psealms is Mel and Jesse, partners in work and in life, based in Darwin. Mel photographs, Jesse films, and their most-booked offering is both together as one story. They take a limited number of weddings a year, shoot digital and analogue, and their work has run in British and Australian Vogue, Hello May and Nouba.
Quiet and unobtrusive: they step in gently and let the day unfold, then spend real time beforehand learning your story so what they make feels personal rather than generic. Editing is timeless rather than trend-led, and they shoot film alongside digital.
Couples marrying around Darwin and the Top End — the Botanic Gardens, Pee Wee’s at the Point, East Point, a Humpty Doo backyard — who want photography and film handled by one team rather than two suppliers who have never met. Elopements are a properly designed product here, not an afterthought.
Photo and film together starts at $8,880 for six hours; either on its own is $4,880. An intimate wedding or elopement is $2,880 for photography, $2,000 for film, and comes with at least 200 edited images. A 30 per cent payment and a signed booking form secure the date, and payment plans are available. Sneak peeks arrive within 72 hours, full galleries in 8 to 12 weeks and films in 12 to 16. A detailed pricing guide is sent when you enquire.
One team, two mediums, priced as one. Photo-and-film is their most-booked collection rather than an upsell, and it is the same two people all day — which is why the films carry the same quiet, unhurried feeling as the photographs.
