Beach House Hotel
About
Overview & Vibe
A beachfront pub on the Scarness Esplanade looking across Hervey Bay, with bars, a bistro, a bottle shop, gaming and live music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The function side is upstairs: two second-floor rooms with balconies over the water that combine into one large space.
Setting & Style
The Jetty View Room holds 160 and has its own balcony over the Scarness Jetty and a dedicated bar. The Bayview Room takes 80 cocktail-style with a balcony over the Esplanade. Combined they seat 280. There is also a Bayview private dining room for 12–40 with a dedicated chef and waitstaff, and two new soundproofed Island View boardrooms that convert to intimate dining.
Ideal For
Couples who want a water view and a room that scales — from a 12-seat private dinner to 280 — without leaving the Esplanade.
The Need-to-Knows
- The upstairs function rooms are being renovated at the time of writing, with booking enquiries reopening “mid November”. Confirm availability before planning around them.
- No pricing of any kind is published — no per-head rate, room hire or minimum spend. Everything runs through the functions manager.
- The wedding page itself carries almost nothing. The named rooms and capacities are on the general functions page.
- Combining the two rooms is how you get past 160.
- It is a working pub with gaming, sports bars and live music three nights a week — worth asking how public trade sits alongside a function.
- Wheelchair accessible, and there is a courtesy bus.
- No accommodation, and the hotel does not host 18th birthday parties in its function rooms.
Standout Feature
A private balcony over the Scarness Jetty, attached to a room that holds 160.

Price Notes
- NO PRICING OF ANY KIND IS PUBLISHED. No per-head rate, room hire fee, minimum spend, deposit or package price appears anywhere on the domain, and NO PDF is linked on any page. Every function route ends in the same form: 'To enquire about holding your upcoming Function or Corporate Event with us at the Beach House Hotel, simply complete the enquiry form below and our functions manager will be in touch soon.' A 'Read Our Terms & Conditions' link appears on three function pages but resolves to no separate document.
- THE FUNCTION ROOMS ARE UNDER RENOVATION AT CAPTURE, AND THE REOPENING DATE IS UNDATED: 'The Beach House Hotel's upstairs function rooms are currently undergoing renovations with booking enquiries available from mid November. Stay tuned for updates! We have 2 locations downstairs still available for your event.' WHICH November is not stated. This is the fourth consecutive sweep in which this venue has advertised 'new & improved function spaces coming soon' (B93, B100, B176, B229), so the phrase should be treated as long-standing rather than imminent - but the room descriptions and capacities below are NEW this sweep and did not exist in the previous three.
- A §64 CONTRADICTION IN CONSECUTIVE SENTENCES: the page says 'We have 2 locations downstairs still available for your event' and then places the Jetty View Room 'on the second floor' and the Bayview Room 'on the second level'. Recorded rather than resolved.
- THE COMBINED CAPACITY EXCEEDS THE SUM OF THE PARTS: 160 + 80 = 240, but the venue states 280 for the combined room. Not adjusted, and worth confirming at enquiry.
- THE PRIVATE DINING INCLUSIONS ARE SPECIFIC: 'Feast your senses with an intimate immersion in modern dining at its best, with our Bayview private dining experience. This exclusive fine dining experience is for entertaining 12-40 of your most esteemed guests. Includes full room setup with linen tablecloths, napkins, centre pieces, a dedicated chef & waitstaff for the length of your event.'
- THE BOARDROOMS ARE NEW AND FULLY SPECIFIED: 'Our brand new state of the art airconditioned private boardrooms are the perfect spaces for client meetings, information sessions, staff training & private networking events. Boardroom 1 also has access to a private balcony overlooking the beautiful Bay. Both rooms are fully furnished & have high speed Wi-Fi, full AV facilities & conference call facilities. The soundproof operable wall can be opened to join both rooms together to create a larger meeting space for bigger groups. These rooms can also be converted to private dining spaces for intimate bespoke dining functions.'
- A STATED RESTRICTION, REPEATED TWICE: 'Please note The Beach House Hotel does not host 18th Birthday parties in our functions rooms.'
- NO CATERING MENU OR DIETARY INFORMATION IS PUBLISHED for functions, despite the hotel running its own bistro with a full daily menu. The functions pages say only 'varied catering choices' and 'menus'. dietary_options_supported is NULL as not-published (§73).
- IT IS A WORKING PUB, AND THE TRADING HOURS SAY SO: 'Bar & Gaming Sun - Thurs 10am - 10pm, Fri - Sat 10am - 2am. Bistro Mon-Thur 11:30am-2:30pm, 5:00pm-8:30pm... Scarborough Bar Fri Sat Sun from 12pm.' The FAQ adds 'Do you have live music? Every Friday, Saturday & Sunday.' The site also has Gaming, Bottle Shop and Courtesy Bus sections. Worth asking how public trade and live music interact with a function booking - the same question raised at Caves House (B217) and Mangrove Hotel (B161).
- ACCESSIBILITY AND PETS ARE ANSWERED IN THE FAQ: 'Is your venue wheelchair accessible? Yes.' 'Are dogs allowed at your venue? Yes, dogs are welcome in our doggy dining area outside.' 'Can minors enter the venue? Yes, minors can enter the venue but they must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.'
- NO ACCOMMODATION - the hotel is a pub, not a motel, and nothing on the domain offers rooms.
- RULE 8 CHECKED: footer reads 'Copyright © 2026 Beach House Hotel. All Rights Reserved.' A single property on its own domain with no group brand. NO STRUCTURED PRICING DATA.
