A beachfront bar and eatery on the Torquay foreshore, right on the Hervey Bay Esplanade with the water a few metres away and K'gari (Fraser Island) across the bay. It runs as a cafe from 6am most of the week, and turns over to weddings in the evening — the venue's own words are “a relaxed coastal charm that sets the scene for a wedding that feels effortlessly beautiful”. Hundreds of weddings and events have been hosted here.

Setting & Style

Roughly 375m² of guest space across an open beachfront deck and an indoor dining room, styled for the evening with festoon lighting and long dressed tables facing the water. Wedding bookings take exclusive use of the entire property, which includes The Salty Axe — the axe-throwing venue next door — so the bridal party has somewhere to disappear to before the reception. Styling is by Boho Events & Styling: oak crossback chairs, hardwood tables or wine barrels, a 6-metre sheer bridal backdrop with fairy lights, rattan lounge suites.

Couples who want the water in every photograph and a sunset to time the reception around, at a scale between 60 and 180 guests, without a formal ballroom.

The Need-to-Knows

There is no venue hire fee, but there is a minimum spend — $10,000 in peak season and $9,000 off-peak. Peak means Queensland school holidays and public holidays. The venue's explanation is that the minimum goes back to you as food and bar, so the space and the view come in free.
Four packages, all with a 60-guest minimum, priced per adult and per child (1–12): Foundations $107 / $81, Luxe $136 / $99, Champagne canapé $138 / $99, Opulence $152 / $115. All four include exclusive use, arrival drinks, cocktail-hour nibbles, cake service and a full planning service.
Sit-down is capped well below the cocktail number. Up to 100 guests for a seated banquet, up to 180 cocktail-style. The seated cap is deliberate — the venue holds it at 100 so everybody still has a seat if the weather turns.
The night ends at midnight, firmly. The licence allows guests on the premises until 12am, last drinks are called at 11pm and music stops at 11pm. Strict noise restrictions apply — it is a residential foreshore.
Start times move with the season, to catch the sunset. September to April guests arrive from 5pm; May to August from 4pm.
Dietary requirements are catered for individually and appear in every package. The platter menu is coded V, VO, VG, DF, GF and GFO.
Bring your own cake — cake service is included, the cake is not. Musicians and DJs are welcome but must be named in advance so the venue can brief them on the noise limits.

Price Notes

NO VENUE HIRE FEE, BUT A MINIMUM SPEND. From the compendium FAQ: 'What is a minimum spend? Why don't you charge venue hire? Aquavue works on a minimum spend amount which all goes towards venue inclusions such as your bar tab and food. This means that all the luxury of our function spaces and that stunning view is really complimentary as you're getting it all back in goodies (like food, drinks etc)! These prices are simply minimums, so depending on the package or items that you're after, total pricing may differ from this slightly. Our weddings attract a $10,000 venue minimum during peak seasons and $9000 in non-peak seasons.' Page 2 confirms 'With no additional venue hire fees and flexible packages that can be tailored to suit your vision, guest numbers, and budget'.
PEAK SEASON IS DEFINED: 'A peak season would include any School Holiday periods, as well as any local and Queensland recognised Public Holidays. Non-Peak is any time outside of these periods.' The difference is $1,000 on the minimum spend.
THE STYLING PACKAGES ARE SEPARATELY PRICED IN THE SAME DOCUMENT, by Boho Events & Styling, at a per-guest rate that steps up for smaller weddings. BOHO OPULENCE '$48 per guest for 50 and above / $56 per guest for 50 and below'. BOHO LUXE '$32 per guest for 50 and above / $40 per guest for 50 and below'. BOHO COCKTAIL '$34 per guest for 50 and above / $42 per guest for 50 and below'. All three include 'Delivery, Set up and late night pack down by professional stylists' and a 'Free 1 hour styling consult in our studio for you to see and select your decor'. IMPORTANT AMBIGUITY: the Opulence, Luxe and Champagne wedding packages each list the matching Boho styling package as an inclusion, so these per-guest rates read as the standalone value of that styling rather than a charge on top - but the compendium does not say so explicitly. Confirm with the venue before budgeting them as an extra. The Foundations package includes only 'Venue supplied basic styling'.

BAR IS RUN ON A TAB, NOT A PACKAGE: 'To make your celebration seamless and stress-free, we recommend setting up a pre-determined bar tab for your event. Your Event Coordinator will work closely with you to help determine an amount and structure that best suits your guest list... Bar tabs can be tailored to your preferences, with flexibility around: Total bar tab amount (e.g. $2,000), Bar tab start time (e.g. upon the bride and groom's arrival), Drink inclusions (e.g. beer and wine only). You can also customise inclusions for different guest groups.' No per-head drinks package is published.
TIMING RULES ARE STRICT AND PUBLISHED. 'Our venue is licensed to have guests on the premises until midnight. To adhere to this, we call last drinks at 11pm, allowing ample time to consume your final drinks, pack up any personal items and depart the venue by midnight.' On music: 'you're welcome to organise your own musician or DJ. We permit music up until 11pm. Please let us know who you book so we're able to contact them prior to your event... Please be mindful that we have strict noise restrictions that must be adhered too.' It is the current document and its prices are quotable.
