Daniel Domaschenz shoots weddings across Victoria from Ballarat, and does it with a camera in one hand and a cine lens in the other — couples book him for photographs, for films, or for both. He went all in on the work in 2018 after studying filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, captured his first wedding for his cousin at Wye River, and was voted best wedding photographer and videographer in Ballarat and Bendigo at the Wedding Industry Awards in 2024 and again in 2026.
His stated aim is that the day feels natural and uniquely yours, whether you want a hands-off presence or a bit more direction. Galleries are edited in a signature true-to-life colour, with black and white added on request. Book photography and videography together and there are two of them on the day — Dan and his partner Rachael — so neither craft is squeezed to make room for the other.
Couples who want moving pictures as well as still ones, and couples marrying well outside Ballarat: he has shot from Warrnambool to Echuca-Moama, the Grampians, Horsham, Hamilton, Anglesea, Wye River, Geelong, Bendigo and Melbourne. Packages start at $2,997 and a non-refundable $1,000 deposit secures the date, with a confirmation email inside about 48 hours. Delivery times are published per product: a photography sneak peek in 1 to 7 days and the full gallery in 2 to 4 months; a teaser trailer in 2 to 4 weeks and the highlights or documentary film in 3 to 6 months. He is fully insured for public liability and equipment, and there are no travel fees anywhere in Victoria.
The two-of-us arrangement is the real distinction. Most hybrid shooters trade one craft against the other across a single day; booking both here puts a second person on the floor, which is why the reception frames in his galleries are shot from inside the crowd rather than from the edge of it.
