Adam has been photographing weddings around the Macedon Ranges and Daylesford for a dozen years, and he is genuinely of the place: he grew up on a farm outside Kyneton and still lives on one nearby. His own framing of the job is that he is the couple’s third wheel with cameras included, and the testimonials on his site keep returning to the same thing — that he was fun to have around and that the wedding party liked him.
He documents the day unobtrusively, aiming for the authentic, unposed version of people rather than arranged set-ups, and he is explicit that he will guide couples gently toward better light but otherwise stay out of the way. He does not film: asked directly whether he offers video, the answer is no, on the grounds that he would rather concentrate on doing one thing well and refer the rest out.
