An 1850s colonial homestead at Tinamba, between Traralgon and Maffra in central Gippsland, set in 20 acres of gardens inside a 300-acre working family farm. Julia and Adam live in the homestead and run the weddings themselves — more than 380 of them. The way they describe it is exact: “like a private property wedding, but it is mostly all managed for you.”

Setting & Style

Ceremonies go almost anywhere on the property — in the lush gardens under old oaks, in front of the heritage 1850s brick Stables, one of Victoria's oldest brick buildings, in the Stables courtyard, or under the wisteria. Receptions are in a 25 × 10 m clear-view marquee on polished concrete with a timber deck, 1,000 fairy lights, dimmable festoons, ceiling heaters and fans, positioned to look over the gardens, the farmland, the mountain ranges and the old stables. Wet weather has a real plan: the Old Farmer's Shed, with a herringbone brick floor and old wooden beams, dressed with trees and lounges.

Ideal For

Couples who want a full-property country wedding with the logistics handled — marquee, furniture, bar, staff, coordination, cleanup all included — and who like knowing every number before they enquire.

The Need-to-Knows

Venue hire is published in full for 2027–2028. Premium 15-hour package $9,100; Grand Ceremony & Reception, 8 hours from 4pm, $7,700; Ceremony Only, 2.5 hours, $4,100; Micro Wedding, 4.5 hours, from $5,200 including 20 guests. The pack states “for weddings in 2029 + please expect a price increase of 5%”.
Beverages are the venue's; food is not. The beverage package starts at $83 per person for 6 hours (+$10pp per extra hour; children and suppliers $25pp). Catering comes from one of five approved Gippsland caterers you contract directly, from $60–$90 per head depending on the caterer. Food trucks are allowed with rules and fees.
Licensed for 130 guests. Furniture is included up to 130. Above that needs a liquor-licence extension — the marquee itself will take more, and the venue's own numbers for that differ between its website and its newest brochure (160/180 versus 165/200). Confirm before planning a large wedding.
There is a minimum. Standard weddings need 50 adult guests; micro weddings run 20–40 with $49 per extra guest and a $500 surcharge Friday to Sunday.
Closed July and August for maintenance. 10% off venue hire Monday to Thursday, and 10% off weekends in May, June and September.
The booking terms are strict. A booking fee of 50% of the venue hire in two instalments, the balance six months out, and no date changes — deposits and payments are non-refundable unless the venue re-books your date at similar value, less a $500 fee. Package upgrades are allowed; downgrades are not.
Two cabins sleep on site and are held for wedding couples until five months out: the Lake House $350, MountainView $450, or MountainView with a 1pm get-ready check-in, grazing box and beers, $550.
Guests cannot camp or bring caravans. Parking is ample — about 150 spaces, cars may stay overnight if collected before noon — but taxis have limited availability in the country, so plan transport.
You will want a stylist. Julia and Adam coordinate the venue and the vendors but state plainly that they are not planners or stylists and cannot troubleshoot décor on the day.

VENUE HIRE IS PUBLISHED IN FULL, AND THE PRICES ON THE PAGE ARE FORWARD-DATED. The weddings page carries the note '*Price listed is for 2027+, prices subject to change', and the June 2026 brochure heads each package '2027 - 2028'. PREMIUM PACKAGE $9,100 - a 15hr package with the property exclusively yours all day, Day Suite access 8.30am-6pm with a stocked fridge, Danish pastries, fruit, a grazing box and a bottle of Moet, French Provincial white luxe garden furniture for cocktail hour, a white curtain backdrop in the marquee, and a Lakehouse stay with 2pm check in / 11am check out. GRAND CEREMONY &/OR RECEPTION $7,700 - an 8hr package with the ceremony from 4pm (3pm in winter), guests welcomed from 3.30pm. ROMANTIC CEREMONY PACKAGE $4,100 - 2.5hr, garden or Stables. MICRO WEDDING from $5,200 - 4.5hr, includes 20 guests, $49 per additional guest, maximum 40, designed for Monday to Thursday with a $500 surcharge Friday to Sunday. BEVERAGES ARE PRICED PER HEAD AND FOOD IS NOT PRICED BY THE VENUE AT ALL. Beverage package 'Starting from 6hr packages: $83.00 per person (i.e. 4.30pm - 10.30pm). Every additional hour is $10 per person... Every attending adult guest has to be included in the final number.' Children and suppliers such as photographers and entertainers are $25 per person. For a ceremony-only booking the venue offers 'a $35 per person Beverage Package or a minimum bar spend of $1500'. The $83 package covers a named list of Australian wines (Zilzie sparkling, moscato, sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio, rose, pinot noir; Bay of Stones chardonnay and shiraz; local Avon Ridge cabernet; Fizzero 0%), Limoncello Spritz and Peach Bellini during cocktail hour, Carlton Dry/Draught, Great Northern mid, James Boag's light, 0% Peroni, local Gippsland apple and apple-pear ciders, a non-alcoholic 'Lady Mewburn' fruit punch, sparkling water, soft drinks, juice, tea and coffee. Corona is +$4pp and Peroni or Stone & Wood +$3pp. Spirits are $12 each on consumption, spritz cocktails $16, espresso martinis/margaritas/cosmos $22.
price_per_head IS NULL DELIBERATELY. The venue charges no per-head figure for wedding food - catering is contracted directly with an external caterer - so there is no comparable per-head rate of the kind this field carries for venues that cater in house (cf. Rowlee's $110 food package, Batch 88). The venue's own per-head charge is for beverages only, at $83, and recording that as the per-head price would imply it covers a meal. Every figure is recorded above instead.
THE VENUE PUBLISHES ITS FIVE APPROVED CATERERS WITH THEIR FROM-PRICES, WHICH IS UNUSUAL AND USEFUL: 'Duart Catering | starting from $60 p.p.'; 'Tinamba Hotel | starting from $90 p.p.'; 'Neilsons Restaurant/Little Prince Eating House | starting from $85 p.p'; 'The Criterion Hotel | starting from $75 p.p.'; 'Vintage Graze > fingerfood only!'. These are third-party prices contracted directly - 'To keep things easy and affordable we let you deal with them straight away' - and are recorded here rather than in price_per_head for that reason. Food trucks are allowed: 'please contact us for further information, rules and fees apply.' Because all catering is external the venue states no dietary position of its own and dietary_options_supported is NULL.
DISCOUNTS AND A CLOSED SEASON, BOTH PUBLISHED: 'On Monday - Thursday we do give a 10% discount on the Venue Hire (except public holidays). In our Off Peak (May, June & September) we give 10% off the Venue Hire packages on weekends. Mewburn Park is closed in July & August for general maintenance, but please reach out for date requests.' Also: 'Ceremony only packages are generally not available on Fridays & Saturdays in peak season (October to April).'
THE BOOKING AND CANCELLATION TERMS ARE STRICT AND FULLY PUBLISHED: 'To secure your date we require a Booking Fee which is 50% of the Venue Hire Package you've chosen. The Booking Fee is paid in 2 instalments. An initial 25% to confirm date and contract, and then the remaining 25% due 60 days after this. The remaining 50% of your Venue Hire is paid 6 month prior your wedding date. The Beverage Package and any other extras you've chosen are due 14 days prior your wedding date.' On changes: 'Mewburn Park does not move dates unless drastic circumstances apply... package downgrades are not available.' On cancellation: 'Your Booking Fee (deposit) is non refundable unless Mewburn Park is able to secure another wedding on the same date with a similar value to your original booking, then your initial booking fee (deposit) will be refunded, minus a $500 administration fee... please note that your deposit/booking fee and additional payments are non-refundable. Postponements/Rescheduling of dates are at Mewburn Park's discretion. In the case of a postponement, the full venue hire is required to be paid to secure 2nd date, all monies paid will be retained and are non refundable from thereon.'

IN-HOUSE HIRE ITEMS ARE INDIVIDUALLY PRICED, saving delivery fees: arch arbor $150, white arbor $150, white round arbor $180 (2.2m x 2.4m), white mesh pillars $150 for two or $220 for four, white plinths $150 a pair, ripple arch backdrop $150-$250, wire mesh sign stand $130, copper or white metal frame $50, three-tier tulle tablecloth $95, linen tablecloths $30-$45 each, velvet lounge sets $350. Extra ceremony chairs are $4 each above the 40 included. Drinks extras: champagne tower $350, cocktail tower $150 setup plus $22 a drink, 'Pimp Up Your Sparkling' fruit and syrup tray $90.

LOGISTICS THAT AFFECT THE DAY: 'Bump in for vendor set up is 10.30am. Bump out is either at night or next morning strictly between 8.30am and 10am latest.' Parking is 'about 150 parking spots. Cars can be left behind over night... but we kindly ask that they are to be picked up before lunchtime 12pm the next day.' On transport: 'There are taxis in the area, but we are in the country so they have limited availability. Other options are: 13CABS services or Sale/Maffra Taxi service.' On camping: 'Can guests bring their own tents/caravans? No, we don't allow this. The only people able to stay on-site are those who are staying in the Lake House and or MountainView onsite luxe cabins.' And on styling: 'Julia & Adam are both your Venue Coordinators, liaising with all suppliers... However they are not wedding planners or coordinators and no stylists... our team is responsible for venue setup only, including tables, chairs, and venue glassware. We do not provide styling services or coordination for DIY decor.'
