The Grove is a 60-acre estate at Krowera in South Gippsland, between Warragul and Inverloch and about ninety minutes from Melbourne. Olive groves, forest and hilltop lawns look out over the Bass Hinterland, and the estate presses its own olive oil.
Setting & Style
Receptions are held in The Reception, a glass-fronted atrium that opens right up in good weather — 134 seated or 250 for a cocktail party — with the adjoining bar turning into the dance floor as the night goes on. Four ceremony sites cover most moods: the Helipad, a 360-degree hilltop framed by truffle trees with a built-in arbour and white chairs; The Dam, secluded and forest-like for smaller groups; the Terrace, level and close to the car park for golden-hour ceremonies; and the Press Shed as the wet-weather alternative, with an indoor bar, a barista and a fireplace.
Ideal For
Couples who want a large country wedding within reach of Melbourne and value logistics being handled — the shuttle, the parking, the coordinator and the wet-weather plan are all part of the offering.
The Need-to-Knows
- There is no Uber or taxi in the area. The venue says so plainly and strongly recommends arranging guest transport in advance. All weddings include complimentary use of a 9-seater shuttle for one round of pick-up and drop-off, with 80+ on-site parking spaces and overnight parking allowed.
- No pricing is published for wedding packages. What is published: a $2,000 non-refundable deposit secures the date, followed by a three-stage payment schedule. In-house design and printing of menus, place cards and signage starts at $500. A DIY reception package for private functions is from $4,000.
- Cancellation is steep close in. More than six months out, only the deposit is forfeited; three to six months, 50%; within 90 days, the full balance remains payable.
- All wedding packages include a complimentary menu tasting, and a dedicated events team member is on site throughout the day.
- Only biodegradable confetti. Sparklers and smoke machines are not permitted. Own decorations and outside suppliers are welcome with prior approval and appropriate insurance.
- A bridal suite is available, closing once the dance floor opens.
- Pet friendly — well-behaved pets are welcome down the aisle and in photographs.
