About

Overview & Vibe

A boutique alpine retreat in the Kiewa Valley at Tawonga South, with landscaped gardens and uninterrupted views of Mt Bogong, Victoria’s highest peak, and the Alpine National Park beyond. The name comes from the Dreaming: “Myee was an indigenous Bogong Moth woman… with the most beautiful coloured wings.”

Setting & Style

A wedding here takes exclusive use of the whole property — gardens, decks, a seasonal saltwater pool looking at Mt Bogong, and indoor and outdoor entertaining areas. The retreat’s own photography shows a garden ceremony under gum trees with a wine-barrel signing table, and a lawn strung with festoon lights after dark.

Ideal For

Couples wanting a small alpine wedding where the ceremony, the reception and the beds are all in one place — the retreat’s stated pitch is “your small number ceremony and reception at one stunning location so that your guests can relax and enjoy the day with you.”

The Need-to-Knows

  • No capacity is published, and the venue only ever says “small number”. Ask first — this is not a large-wedding venue.
  • No wedding pricing is published either.
  • Suppliers are pre-selected — photographer, cake maker, celebrant and caterer are the retreat’s own shortlist.
  • Accommodation is on site but modest: four lodge-style rooms sleeping 3–4 each, plus Myee House sleeping 11–12.
  • Cooking is not permitted in the lodge rooms — there is a shared servery and guest kitchen instead.
  • Strictly non-smoking, including the grounds and all decks.
  • Pets outside only, maximum two, at Myee House.

Standout Feature

A saltwater pool and a garden looking straight at Mt Bogong.

Price Notes

  • Pricing is provided on enquiry — no per-head rate, venue hire fee, package or minimum is published. The retreat invites you to contact them to design a custom wedding.
  • Suppliers are pre-selected, which is unusual at this scale: the retreat says it has chosen photographer, cake maker, celebrant and caterer. None is named, so the first question to ask is whether that shortlist is compulsory or advisory. No catering menu or dietary information is published.
  • Exclusive use is the offer: a wedding here gives you and your guests the whole property, with local help and advice close by.
  • Accommodation terms are published in full and matter for a wedding party: arrival from 3pm, departure by 10am, a minimum stay in peak periods, and full payment 14–30 days ahead — or 90 days ahead in peak periods. Cancelled bookings outside the cancellation period carry a $50 administration fee. That fee applies to accommodation, not to the wedding.
  • Cooking is not permitted in the lodge rooms, but a full shared kitchen is provided free — microwaves, toasters, kettles, ovens, cooktops, crockery, cutlery and glassware — and guests clean up after themselves. Myee House, by contrast, is fully self-catering.
  • The retreat is entirely non-smoking, including the grounds, the decks and Myee House.
  • Pets are welcome outside only at Myee House, up to two, with a dog kennel and run. Inside access has to be requested by email.
  • Retreat room bookings include a starter breakfast and snack tray on the first morning only. There are no hairdryers. Pool towels are $5 per stay and soft drinks are sold through an honesty mini bar in the lounge.
  • The photography shown alongside the wedding offer is largely regional rather than of the property — mountain summits, a chairlift, a snowfield, an alpine hut and a waterfall, none of which the retreat hires out. What it does supply is the garden, the deck, the pool and the beds.
