Trevor Cooke has run his studio on the Great Ocean Road at Bellbrae, just outside Torquay, for more than twenty-five years. He is an accredited professional of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, and his wedding work runs from surf-coast beaches and clifftops to homesteads, vineyards, churches and paddocks.
He describes his own work as natural, honest and emotive with a real sense of agelessness, polished yet soulful and candid, and relaxed rather than posed. He calls it a blend of fashion and photojournalism, and says the sense of timelessness is there in every couple he photographs.
Couples marrying along the Great Ocean Road, around Torquay or in Geelong who want an experienced hand rather than a new one, and who like the idea of images made to look as good in twenty years as on the day. He has also shot weddings as far afield as the Barossa, the Whitsundays and Fiji.
Wedding photography and every collection can be tailored, so there is no fixed package list. The next step is a call or an enquiry and then a meeting over coffee, and a printed brochure can be requested.
He teaches as well as shoots: one-to-one sessions, a photography essentials course, studio and natural lighting workshops and a Lightroom and Photoshop class all run out of the same studio, alongside portrait and commercial work.
