Dion for Brides
About
Overview & Vibe
Dion for Brides has spent more than three decades building one of Australia's deepest designer bridal collections, and its Subiaco showroom is scaled to match: spacious fitting rooms, a private suite for brides who want complete seclusion, and a hand-picked range that runs from a $290 sample to a $22,110 Galia Lahav couture gown. It is a bridal house rather than a boutique — the sort of shop that carries Vera Wang Bride and Pronovias Atelier alongside a rack of gowns you can buy off the floor and take home the same day.
Dress Styles & Designers
Thirty-six labels sit in the showroom. The couture end is Galia Lahav and its GALA line, Vera Wang Bride, Atelier Pronovias and Pronovias Privée; the Australian names include Karen Willis Holmes, Moira Hughes Couture and Pen Liv; and the international mid-range runs through Maggie Sottero, Sottero & Midgley, Enzoani and Blue by Enzoani, Demetrios in four separate lines, Locket, Willowby by Watters, WONA, Oreasposa, Hervè Paris and Tina Valerdi. Ball gowns, mermaid silhouettes, long-sleeve gowns and a dedicated curve collection are each browsable in their own right, and a second-look range exists for brides who change for the reception.
Ideal For
The bride who wants to compare many designers in one appointment rather than tour four boutiques — and, at the other end, the bride shopping a sample sale on a budget. Both are genuinely served here: the same showroom lists gowns under $1,000 and gowns over $7,500 as separate collections. Evening, formal and bridesmaid dressing sit alongside the bridal range, so a whole wedding party can be dressed in one place.
The Need-to-Knows
Appointments are required, and they are structured. A new-client consultation runs 90 minutes and is complimentary Monday to Friday; Saturday slots are priority appointments carrying a $30 fee and book out roughly two weeks ahead. Trying anything from the Galia Lahav Haute Couture or GALA collections requires a specific $75 Galia Lahav appointment with a senior stylist, and the Private Suite is also $75. All fees are refundable with 72 hours' notice. On ordering: the house recommends buying 10–12 months out, most designers take 6–10 months to deliver, and a gown ordered inside six months of the wedding automatically attracts an express fee. A 50% deposit places the order, with the balance on a five-month lay-by. Alterations are quoted separately by the dressmakers and are not included.
Standout Feature
The price ladder. Very few bridal shops publish a $290 gown and a $22,110 gown on the same website, let alone sort the entire collection into published bands — under $1,000, under $1,500, under $2,500, under $3,500, under $5,000, under $7,500 and over $7,500. A bride can decide what she wants to spend before she books.

Dress Experience
- Every service is by appointment. A new-client consultation runs about 90 minutes, beginning with a walk-through of the showroom before the bride selects gowns; the store estimates time enough for roughly six dresses. A stylist stays in the fitting room throughout, helping the bride in and out of the gowns. Monday-to-Friday appointments are complimentary; Saturday is treated as a priority slot and carries a $30 fee, refundable with 72 hours' notice, introduced because of late cancellations. Second visits, for retrying favourites or having measurements taken, run 60 minutes. Two appointment types cost $75 — the Galia Lahav Couture appointment, which is compulsory before trying anything from the Haute Couture or GALA collections and comes with a senior stylist and the Exclusive Private Suite, and the Private Suite appointment for brides who want to be seen by no one but their own guests. Evening gown appointments are far looser: usually available same-day, with walk-ins more easily accommodated.
