Zolotas Bridal sells one thing and sells it completely: wedding dresses handmade in Greece from organic Greek cotton and lace. The Australian side of the business began in 2016, when Sophie travelled to Greece for her cousin's wedding, saw the bride in a style she had never encountered, and realised that a dress made from Greek cotton was exactly right for an Australian summer. It started in a spare bedroom and is now a mum-and-daughter boutique on Hay Street, Subiaco — chosen, they say, for its village feel and leafy streets.

Dress Styles & Designers

Three collections, all Zolotas' own and all made by hand in Greece. The Crop Top Collection is two-piece bridal — separates and skirts. The Hellenic Origin Collection is the largest, at 22 gowns. The Hellenic Essence Collection adds another 19. The gowns carry Greek names — Iovi, Appolonia, Medeia, Antigone, Semele, Thryallis, Olympia — and the aesthetic is consistently bohemian: seamless silhouettes, crochet and cotton lace, subtle island detail, nothing stiff.
