Willow Bud is a wedding-only floral studio at Perwillowen, in the hills behind Nambour, and it has flowered more than 850 weddings on the Sunshine Coast in seven years. The look it goes for is bountiful and effortlessly feminine — abundant, garden-gathered and a little loose, rather than tight and formal. It is also unusually straight with couples about money: four service tiers, each with its floor printed on the page, and a written explanation of why floral quotes differ so much.

Style & Signature Blooms

Garden-style and romantic, built on whatever is best that week. Its own write-ups name the blooms: David Austin, O’Hara and Quicksand roses, peonies in November, ranunculus, lisianthus, sweet peas, anemones and freesias for the soft palettes; King proteas, banksia, phalaenopsis orchids, pampas and bunny tails when a couple wants something coastal or textural; and eucalyptus, olive, ruscus and trailing jasmine through the foliage work.

Couples marrying anywhere from Noosa to the Maleny and Montville hinterland who want to know the number before the first conversation. There is a shape here for an elopement and a shape for a fully installed wedding, and a handful of destination dates each year for Byron Bay, Brisbane, Toowoomba, the Gold Coast and the South Burnett.

The Need-to-Knows

Four tiers, each with a stated minimum investment: $2,000 for bridal party blooms you collect, $4,000 for full service with delivery, installation and pack-down, $7,500 for a destination wedding, and $8,000 for the exclusive tier, which adds a site visit, a digital design guide and on-the-day transfers. Hire of vases, urns, plinths and structures is included rather than charged. Only a limited number of exclusive dates go out each year. Travel and accommodation on a destination booking are quoted separately.

Standout Feature

It publishes the arithmetic. Allow ten to fifteen per cent of the wedding budget for flowers; on a $40,000 wedding that is $4,000 to $6,000; its own average couple spends about $4,000. And it explains the part nobody else does — rose varieties alone run from $5 to $17 a stem, so two quotes describing the same bouquet can be two entirely different things.

Appointment Policy

Every tier opens with a consultation: one hour by phone, video or in the studio for the bridal party bundle, and up to two studio consultations for the full service and destination tiers, with unlimited email and phone in between.
The exclusive tier includes up to two face-to-face consultations and a full site visit at the venue.
Only a limited number of exclusive dates are released each year, so that tier is worth asking about early.
The studio is a working consultation space, with vessels on the shelves and buckets of fresh blooms to look at while you talk it through.

Delivery & Setup

The full service, destination and exclusive tiers all include delivery, installation and pack-down of every piece.
The exclusive tier adds on-the-day transfers, so ceremony flowers are moved and reset at the reception while you are elsewhere.
In the bridal party tier the bouquets are boxed and packaged with a small water source so they travel safely, and you set out the rest yourselves.
Travel and accommodation for a destination wedding are quoted separately from the floral minimum.

A complete concept for bridal party, ceremony and reception designed to sit with the rest of the styling, complimentary hire of vases, urns, structures and plinths, up to two studio consultations with unlimited email and phone in between, and delivery, installation and pack-down on the day.
Destination Weddings — from $7,500. A handful of dates each year beyond the usual patch, from South East Queensland to Byron Bay, Brisbane, Toowoomba, the Gold Coast and the South Burnett. Full concept, complimentary vessel hire, up to two studio consultations, and delivery, installation and pack-down. Travel and accommodation are quoted separately.
Exclusive Floral Design — from $8,000. The most involved option, with only a limited number of dates released each year. A fully bespoke design, a detailed digital design guide, the premium vessel, plinth and structure collection, up to two face-to-face consultations plus a full site visit, and delivery, installation, on-the-day transfers and pack-down.
Function and Event Florals — price quoted. Birthdays, engagements, private dinners and corporate events, with table florals, feature installations, bar accents and backdrops, delivered, styled on site and packed down afterwards.
