Poachers Pantry sits on Nanima Road at Springrange, thirty minutes from Canberra — a smokehouse, restaurant, cellar door and vineyard run by the Bruce family on open country land.

Setting & Style

The whole day happens in one place. The ceremony is on the Homestead lawn, often under the golden elm; drinks and canapes follow in the Marquee Gardens while the couple are photographed through the gardens and grounds; then the reception runs either in the restaurant or the Garden Marquee. The menu is built around the region’s produce and the smokehouse’s own smoked meats, paired with estate-grown Poachers Vineyard wine. Exclusive use of the grounds runs six and a half hours, and packages are priced as complete evenings rather than à la carte.

Seated reception packages run $215, $228, $235 and $263 per head depending on courses and beverage inclusions, all built on a 6.5 hour wedding package with a 5 hour beverage package. Grounds hire covers exclusive use of the Poachers grounds for 6.5 hours. Venue hire is charged separately: the Garden Marquee (evening) is $2,000 and the Restaurant (evening) is $3,000. A Homestead Lawn ceremony for a marquee wedding is $450, and guests attending the ceremony only are $45 per head. Ceremony chairs over 40 and up to 60 are $5 per chair. Early access for a first look attracts an additional fee of $1,300. Children's meals and drinks are $55 per head and vendor meals $45. Optional extras include a cocktail hour at $40 per head, a standard beverage extension at $20 per person per hour, a premium beverage extension at $25 per person per hour, and a venue extension for earlier access at $15 per person per hour or part thereof.
