Overview & Vibe

Borrodell sits over a thousand metres up on the slopes of Gaanha Bula / Mount Canobolas, an extinct volcano outside Orange, on Lake Canobolas Road. It is a working vineyard, orchard and trufferie first — the venue says plainly it was never purpose-built for weddings — and one of the highest culinary destinations in Australia, three and a half hours from Sydney.

Setting & Style

Ceremonies happen in a private Rose Garden, then drinks among the vines or the orchard, then a long-table dinner as the light goes across the mountain, with no need to move between venues. There are four reception options at four sizes: micro weddings and elopements up to 40, the Sky Bar for a cocktail evening at 50 standing or 35 seated on a deck over the valley, the Wine Cellar Function Room at 200 cocktail or 140 seated with its own terrace, lawn and a large open fireplace, and a marquee on the lawn terrace for anything above 140. Much of the food is grown on site, down to black truffles in winter, and the wine is made on the same hill.

Venue hire is Saturdays only at the published rates — Rose Garden ceremony $2,000, Sky Bar $5,000, Wine Cellar Function Room $9,000, marquee location $7,000 with the marquee itself an extra cost through an external contractor.
Food $75 per head for eight canapés, $105 for the Premium package, $135 for the Deluxe. Beverage packages $75 or $90 per head over six hours, non-alcoholic included.
A 15% surcharge applies on Sundays and public holidays; midweek is negotiated with the planner.
Hire includes a dedicated Wedding Planner, a ceremony rehearsal, white garden chairs and signing table, wait staff throughout, all tables, chairs, linen, cutlery, glassware, fairy and festoon lights, PA and microphone, and fire pits in winter.
All-inclusive micro weddings, elopements and vow renewals are offered — but not on Saturdays. A weekday dry-hire package exists.
On-site accommodation is two Cider Suites plus cottages, so the wedding party can stay the weekend.

On Site Accommodation

Two on-site options, so guests can stay the night and wake to the vineyard. The Cider Suites — Kingston and Somerset — are open-plan rooms with heated floors, a spa bath and floor-to-ceiling windows, and accommodation also runs across suites and cottages.

Price Notes

Borrodell publishes a complete 2026 wedding brochure. Venue hire is quoted for Saturdays only and excludes micro weddings: a ceremony in the private Rose Garden is $2,000; the Sky Bar, canapes only to a maximum of 50 guests, is $5,000; the Wine Cellar Function Room including its adjoining terrace and lawn is $9,000; and a marquee location is $7,000, with the marquee hire itself an additional cost through an external contractor. A 15% surcharge applies for Sundays and public holidays, and midweek options are discussed with the wedding planner.
Food is $75 per head for cocktail-style service with eight canape choices, $105 per head for the Premium package of three canape choices plus entree and main, and $135 per head for the Deluxe package adding dessert. A wedding cake served on platters is $120. Beverage packages run six hours with non-alcoholic drinks included: Premium at $75 per head covers a sparkling, one white, one red and two beers or ciders; Deluxe at $90 per head covers a sparkling, two whites, two reds and three beers or ciders, with Borrodell Chardonnay or Pinot Noir a further $5.00 per head. A bar tab on consumption is available. Cocktails are $20 to $30 per person, spritzes and spritzers $15, mocktails $15 to $20, and a big-batch dispenser of eight litres serving roughly 50 drinks is $800. A champagne tower of 20 glasses with the bubbles provided is $150, and a tea and coffee station is $180.
Venue hire includes a dedicated Wedding Planner, a ceremony rehearsal before the wedding, white garden chairs and a signing table for the ceremony, wait staff for the duration, all event provisions - tables, chairs, table linen, cutlery, glassware, fairy and festoon lights - a PA system and microphone for speeches, and a large open wood fireplace plus fire pits for cooler evenings.
Three further arrangements are offered on discussion rather than at a fixed price. A full destination-wedding service where the planner arranges vendors, airport transfers and hire cars. All-inclusive micro weddings, elopements and vow renewals bundling celebrant, photographer, styling, food and beverage packages and cake - explicitly NOT available on Saturdays. And a weekday-only dry hire package including bar staff and beverages.
