A cellar door on Shiralee Road just outside Orange, built around an original blue stone barn dating to the late 1800s. The tasting room is in the converted barn and looks out over the manor home, the outbuildings, the vines and the farmland beyond. The wine behind it is serious: Philip Shaw ran winemaking for Rosemount and then for Southcorp before planting 47 hectares at Koomooloo, 900 metres up on the slopes of Gaanha Bula / Mount Canobolas, in 1988–89.
Setting & Style
Grounds rather than rooms. The venue describes indoor and outdoor spaces across the cellar door grounds, kept deliberately flexible — a tree-lined driveway, gardens around the stone buildings, and the vineyard itself. The estate's own photographs show a confetti exit under a vine-covered pergola, long tables candlelit inside the stone building, bridal parties on the lawns, blossom against the bluestone, and couples walking the orchard rows. The soil is 12-million-year-old olivine basalt over deep limestone — the volcano is the reason the region is cool-climate.
Ideal For
Couples who care what is in the glass and want a small, wine-led wedding at a genuinely credentialled Orange producer, and who are comfortable working the detail out by conversation rather than reading it off a page.
The Need-to-Knows
- Nothing is published — not a capacity, not a price, not a named wedding space. Third-party listings quote figures such as “up to 120 guests” and describe a courtyard with railway-sleeper archways; none of that appears anywhere on the winery's own site, so none of it is recorded here. Ask the events line directly.
- Parts of the weddings page are unedited template copy from another winery. It invites you to enjoy “the view from our Home Ranch deck” and to learn about “our history in the Delta” — American wine-country phrasing that has nothing to do with Orange. The same three paragraphs are repeated word for word on the Visit page under different headings. Treat the wedding copy as a placeholder and rely on the conversation.

- The cellar door runs 11am–5pm, seven days, closed only Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, and open on all other public holidays. Tastings are $15 per person, or $30 with a local cheese plate — those are visitor rates, not wedding catering.
- Food is described only in general terms: seasonal farm-to-table, sustainable and organic, with an emphasis on local meat. No menu and no dietary statement is published.
- No accommodation on site. Orange is a few minutes away and has the beds.
