Cottontail Wines
About
Overview & Vibe
Cottontails sits on a hundred acres at Eunanoreenya, fifteen minutes out of Wagga, with ten acres of vineyard and a hundred and seventy olive trees planted by the family that still runs it. The building is purpose-built and modern rather than rustic — an open-kitchen restaurant with glass along one whole side and the Riverina rolling away underneath it. The venue's own phrase for the feeling is being “on top of the world”.
Setting & Style
Two rooms and a deck. Cottontails, the main restaurant, seats 100 or takes 135 for canapés; Kittens, a fully self-contained covered outdoor area, seats 40 or 60 for canapés. Ceremonies go on the lawn at the fence line looking over the paddocks, or under a wrought-iron gazebo in the garden. Photography runs to the whole hundred acres — vineyard rows, an olive-lined dirt road, and a pine avenue.
Ideal For
Couples wanting a Riverina winery wedding where the food, the wine, the coordinator and the numbers are all published up front — and who are happy inside a 50-guest floor and a 135-guest ceiling.
The Need-to-Knows
- Venue hire is $3,999 for ceremony and reception, or $399 for the ceremony alone — payable in full on confirmation and non-refundable.
- There is a minimum total spend of $5,000 including venue hire and drinks, and a guaranteed minimum of 50 guests. Below 50, the venue may charge for 50 anyway.
- Food runs $60.50–$86.90 per head. Canapés are $60.50 for eight over two hours; a shared-platter main is $66.00; formal is $66.00 for two courses and $86.90 for three. Drinks packages are $41–$49 per person for four to four and a half hours, and children twelve and under are $10.
- The day is eight hours, and it ends at 11:15pm — 9am–11:15pm Monday to Saturday, but Sunday finishes at 9:30pm and carries a $550 fee. Public holidays add a 15% surcharge.
- An unusual condition worth reading before you sign. The venue asks for “a minimum of 6 photos taken showing our venue or property grounds… for our use”, including marketing and social media, and charges a $300 photography deposit refunded once the photos are received.
- Glitter and rice are banned, biodegradable confetti costs a $150 cleaning charge, and open flames are prohibited — enclosed candles need a $500 refundable security deposit.
- No accommodation on site. Courtesy transport is a paid extra: an 11-seater is $400 return and a 21-seater $500, both from 183 Tarcutta Street in Wagga.
Standout Feature
A hundred acres of vineyard, olive grove and pine avenue open for photographs — and a restaurant with the whole Riverina through the glass behind the bridal table.
