Magpies Nest is a restaurant inside an 1860s stone stable building on the corner of Old Narrandera and Pine Gully Roads outside Wagga Wagga. The building and the homestead beside it date from the first settlement of the area, and the restaurant exists because couples kept asking to be married in the stable — the venue opened in response to the demand.
Setting & Style
Twenty acres, available exclusively, with sweeping views across the vineyard and olive groves and out to the Murrumbidgee River. There is a purpose-built ceremony area, so both ceremony and reception happen in one place; guests wander the gardens with a drink while the couple takes photographs down through the vineyard, the olive grove or around the old stable. The reception is inside the stone building itself. Menus are built with each couple rather than chosen from a list — some written from scratch around local and seasonal produce, others picked from what the restaurant is cooking that season.
