The Gardens Wagga
About
Overview & Vibe
A function centre and cafe inside the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens — which is the whole proposition. The reception room seats 160 under high ceilings with natural light and full-height glass onto the gardens; the ceremony happens a short walk away among the plantings. The venue has been doing this “for more than five years” and calls itself award-winning.
Setting & Style
Three named outdoor settings sit within the gardens: the Tree Chapel, the Bamboo Gardens and the tranquil waters of Brolga Pond. Inside is a clean, contemporary room rather than a heritage one — pale walls, festoon and fairy lighting, long tables, and year-round air conditioning. The gardens do the decorating.
Ideal For
Couples who want a garden ceremony and a proper catered sit-down reception within a few minutes' walk of each other, in Wagga itself rather than half an hour out of town — and who would rather not hire a marquee, a caterer and a bar separately.
The Need-to-Knows
- Catering is in-house and priced per head. Served meals run $61 for two courses, $72 for three and $84 for four; canapés are $52 for seven, $62 for ten, $72 for twelve; street-food service is $52 for five items, plus $7 per additional item. All prices are GST-inclusive, which the venue states explicitly.
- Your wedding cake can be dessert for $4 a head, served with chantilly cream and berry coulis — or sliced onto platters with tea and coffee at no charge.
- 160 seated, 200 standing. No minimum guest number is published.
- No venue hire fee, minimum spend or beverage package is published anywhere. Everything on the site is food pricing; the cost of the room itself comes on enquiry.
- The menus live on Canva, not the website — four share links off the Menus page. They are current, titled for 2026/27, and they are the only place the prices appear.
- It is a working public cafe as well, open seven days inside the gardens, so the site is not exclusively a wedding venue.
Standout Feature
A ceremony in the Botanic Gardens' Tree Chapel or beside Brolga Pond, and a 160-seat reception room a few minutes' walk from it.

Price Notes
- ALL PRICES ARE GST-INCLUSIVE AND THE VENUE SAYS SO. From the Street Food menu pricing page: 'ALL PRICES INCLUSIVE OF GST.' Worth stating because most venues in this campaign do not specify, and a $52 GST-inclusive figure is not comparable with a $52 ex-GST one.
- SERVED MEALS, PER HEAD: '2 COURSE - $61 / 3 COURSE - $72 / 4 COURSE - $84'. Entree and main are each 'choose two to be served alternately'.
- CANAPES, PER HEAD: 'CHOOSE 7 CANAPES - $52 / CHOOSE 10 CANAPES - $62 / CHOOSE 12 CANAPES - $72'. The served-meals menu also offers a canape round as a first course, 'choose six canapes'.
- STREET FOOD, PER HEAD: 'SELECTION OF FIVE ITEMS - $52 PER PERSON. ADDITIONAL SELECTION - $7 PER PERSON.' Described on the Menus page as 'A relaxed and interactive dining experience, ideal for casual events and social gatherings.'
- YOUR WEDDING CAKE AS DESSERT IS $4 A HEAD, OR FREE. From the served-meals pricing page: 'WEDDING CAKE AS DESSERT SERVED WITH CHANTILLY CREAM AND BERRY COULIS - $4.00'. From the canape pricing page: 'WEDDING CAKE AS DESSERT - $4. SLICED AND SERVED ON PLATTERS WITH TEA AND COFFEE - NO CHARGE.' The distinction is plated versus platters and it is worth knowing.
- LATE-NIGHT AND GRAZING ADD-ONS ARE PRICED PER PLATTER, NOT PER HEAD: 'STICKS AND SLIDERS PLATTER - $180 (10 each of pulled pork and slaw slider, honey soy chicken skewer, lamb kofta skewer, beef meatball skewer)', 'ENTERTAINER PLATTER - $180', 'EPIC EATS PLATTER - $180 (10 of each)', 'KIDS HOT PARTY PLATTER - $150', 'SWEET GRAZING BOARD - $180', 'FRESH FRUIT PLATTER - $75', 'SWEET SLICE PLATTER - $80 (60 bite sized pieces)'. One late-night item is per head: 'ORANGE AND GINGER GLAZED HAM - $5.00 PER PERSON (a popular choice for a late-night snack)'.
- NO VENUE HIRE FEE, MINIMUM SPEND, DEPOSIT OR BEVERAGE PACKAGE IS PUBLISHED ANYWHERE. Every figure the venue publishes is food. The Weddings page, the Functions & Events page and the Contact page all route to an enquiry form or a venue tour instead. This is a significant gap for a couple budgeting - the food figures above are not the cost of the wedding.
- THE MENUS ARE HOSTED ON CANVA, NOT ON THE VENUE'S DOMAIN. The Menus page links four Canva share links (canva.link/...) which resolve to canva.com/design/.../view. They are the venue's own documents - linked from its own site as 'Served Menu', 'Canapes Menu', 'Street Food Menu' and 'Cafe Menu' - and they are the only place any price appears. Their Canva titles date them: 'The Gardens - Served Meals Menu 26/27' and 'The Gardens Canape Menu 2026/27'. Canva renders to canvas rather than DOM text, so the figures were read from full-resolution renders of each page, not from a thumbnail.
- TWO DIFFERENT PHONE NUMBERS ARE PUBLISHED. The Contact page gives '(02) 6925 1767' and thegardenswagga@gmail.com; the footer of every Canva menu gives '0407 966 861 | THEGARDENSWAGGA.COM.AU'. The landline is recorded as the venue phone since it is the one on the venue's own contact page; the mobile appears to be the events contact.
- THE ADDRESS IS GIVEN TWO WAYS. The Contact page says '43 Tom Wood Drive Wagga Wagga NSW 2650'; the Cafe page says 'Located inside the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens, 43 Tom Wood Drive, Turvey Park NSW'. Turvey Park is the suburb, Wagga Wagga the postal city - the same address. Recorded as Wagga Wagga per the Contact page.
- IT IS ALSO A PUBLIC CAFE. 'Nestled within the beautiful Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens, our cafe is the perfect place to relax and enjoy great coffee, fresh food and a peaceful garden setting... Opening Hours Monday to Friday - 9am - 3pm, Saturday and Sunday - 8:30am - 4pm. Walk-ins Welcome.' 'All day parking available within the gardens.' So the grounds are public and in use during the day.
- NO STRUCTURED PRICING DATA - the Shopify storefront's ld+json carries no offer or price block for the wedding product.
