Jo Cook photographs weddings and families across Darwin and Palmerston, and she is straightforward about what she is after: the real, authentic moments, including the ugly cries, the gasps and the slips on the dance floor. A mother of four running her own business, she works in the Top End’s light and colour and prices her wedding collections out to 2027.
Her own words: my style is candid and relaxed. She will loosely pose you for portraits and then leave you alone, catching the genuine smiles, the looks you share and the kisses. The editing aims at modern, heartfelt images that still feel timeless — colour and light are the things she talks about most.
Couples marrying anywhere around Darwin and Palmerston, from a two-hour registry elopement to a ten-hour day. She also photographs engagements, anniversaries and pre-deployment portraits, which in this city matters more than it would elsewhere.
Six hours is $5,200, eight is $5,900 and ten is $6,500; the ten-hour collection adds a keepsake box with ten printed 5×7 images and a USB. A two-hour elopement is $2,995 with every good frame from the day and no cap — though not on Saturdays in May, June or July. Extra hours are $500, or $750 on the elopement. Every collection delivers all images through an online gallery in both high and low resolution. Ask for the full price list when you enquire.
The elopement collection has no image cap — every good frame from the two hours is yours. Most short-coverage packages ration the gallery; this one does the opposite, and it is the cheapest thing she sells.
