Eleven Acres
About
Overview & Vibe
An architecturally designed venue on eleven acres of bushland inside Bundaberg — ten minutes from the GPO and, as the owners put it, “you will feel like you have escaped to your own exclusive bush retreat”. It was the Lennox family home before the 2013 floods, after which the whole house was lifted in four sections and rebuilt as a commercial venue. That history shows: the place reads as a home that grew rather than a function centre that was built.
Setting & Style
The reception room is timber-floored and air-conditioned, with a wall of glass onto the bush, paper lanterns and festoon lighting overhead, and long tables with crossback chairs down its length. Outside there are several ceremony sites to choose from — timber pews and an A-frame arbour under the gums, a timber pergola, a small bridge over the creek — and gardens for guests to spread into between the ceremony and the reception. A wing of boutique accommodation adjoins the function area, so the wedding party never has to leave the property.
Ideal For
Couples who want one address for the whole day and night — getting ready, ceremony, photographs, reception and bed — at up to 120 guests, and who want to choose their own caterer.
The Need-to-Knows
- Nothing is priced on the site. The complete Wedding Information and Styling Guide is handed over when you meet the Venue Coordinator, and there is no PDF anywhere on the domain. Expect to book a tour to get a number.
- Bring your own caterer. There is a full commercial kitchen and the venue “works with your choice of caterer so that you have full flexibility over the style of dining”. The bar is the venue's — fully licensed, stocked and staffed.
- The room takes 120. That is the only guest figure published, and it is given identically on the weddings and functions pages for the air-conditioned indoor space.
- Furniture, styling and set-up are included — all ceremony and reception furniture, dining and serving-ware, a selection of décor and styling items “all included in your package”, and complete set up and pack down.
- Accommodation sleeps 12 across six bedrooms, directly adjoining the function area: a king ensuite with dressing room and private balcony, a queen ensuite, three doubles sharing a bathroom, and a self-contained studio with its own kitchen and balcony. There is a lounge set up for hair and makeup, a mini kitchen, a separate driveway and private parking, and all linen. It can be booked without a function.
- Wet weather is covered — the venue states an undercover option and “all-season indoor and outdoor options”. Ample on-site parking.
Standout Feature
A flood-lifted family homestead turned bush venue where the ceremony, the reception and the bridal party's beds are all within a few metres of each other.

Price Notes
- NOTHING IS PRICED ON THE SITE AND NO DOCUMENT IS SERVED FROM IT. The WordPress sitemap was read in full and lists exactly seven pages - home, about, weddings, functions, accommodation, get-in-touch and a form confirmation - with no PDF of any kind. The weddings page routes every pricing question through a meeting: 'When you meet with our Venue Coordinator you will be provided with our complete Wedding Information and Styling Guide.' and 'Please get in touch to arrange a tour and find out more about crafting your dream wedding at Eleven Acres.' Recorded as gated rather than as something not found.
- THE VENUE SUPPLIES THE ROOM, THE BAR AND THE FURNITURE; YOU SUPPLY THE CATERER. From the weddings page, 'What We Provide': 'An all-inclusive wedding venue for your ceremony, photography, pre-reception, and reception. Onsite accommodation with 6 bedrooms for up to 12 guests. Convenient in-town location. Air-conditioned indoor reception space for 120 guests. Fully licensed, stocked and staffed bar. All ceremony and reception furniture, dining and serving-ware. A selection of wedding decor and styling items. Full commercial kitchen for ease of catering. Complete set up and pack down. Wet weather options. Ample onsite car parking.' The functions page is explicit about the catering arrangement: 'Eleven Acres works with your choice of caterer so that you have full flexibility over the style of dining that best suits the occasion. Our fully-licensed onsite bar is available to take care of refreshments.' So catering is a separate budget line and the bar is not - the opposite arrangement to a BYO-drinks venue.
- STYLING IS INCLUDED RATHER THAN HIRED: 'We have a selection of wedding furniture, decor and styling items for you to choose from - all included in your package. Of course, all the set up and pack down is included, so no need to stress on your big day!' No styling fee, hire list or per-item rate is published.
- THE ACCOMMODATION IS BOOKABLE INDEPENDENTLY, which matters if the wedding party wants the night before: 'Please don't hesitate to check availability, even if you aren't holding a function at Eleven Acres.' No nightly rate is published.
- THE PROPERTY'S HISTORY IS PUBLISHED BY THE OWNERS AND EXPLAINS ITS SHAPE. From the about page, written by Jeff and Liz Lennox: they bought the land in 1992 from John Santalucia, lived in a shed while the house was built over five years to a design by Bruce Medek of Guymer Bailey architects, and used it as a family home and building business until June 2017. 'The most pivotal moment in the history of Eleven Acres was in January 2013 when our property was among the hundreds in Bundaberg that were flooded. This set off a chain of events which culminated in the decision to lift the entire house (in four sections!) and refurbish it as a commercial property. A completely new building was added - the commercial kitchen and the existing living area was extended to create a much larger space to cater for events and a restaurant. The original bedroom wing and the self-contained studio and guest room were all retained and refurbished to provide luxury boutique accommodation. This complex and expansive plan took over two years to complete.' The architect Bruce Medek 'stayed with us for over 30 years' and died at the end of 2022.
- THE SITE OBFUSCATES ITS EMAIL ADDRESS - every page renders it as '[email protected]' - so only the phone number, 07 4155 3030, published in full on every page, is recorded. Enquiries otherwise go through the on-site form or a requested tour.
- PHOTOGRAPHY CREDITS ARE PUBLISHED IN THE FOOTER and are third parties, not the venue: 'Photo Credits Include Shots by Morgan Parremore Photography, Nina Maree Photography, Emma Dahl Photography, Cassandra Kirk Photography and Lifetime in a Day Films.' None of the images used on this listing carries a visible watermark.
- NO STRUCTURED PRICING DATA. No offer, price or priceRange appears in any page's markup.
