About

Overview & Vibe

Tanya Bishop came to photography sideways. Her third child was diagnosed with autism at three, and she began photographing the lines he laid out around the house as a way of managing the grief — which is where the studio’s name comes from. That origin still shows in the work: an eye for the small, ordinary arrangement that turns out to matter. She has since been printed in the Australian Women’s Weekly, won acclaim at the Queensland Arts Centre and taken awards from the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.

Style & Approach

Fine art at heart and unashamedly sun-driven. Her own line is that her signature style involves the sun, and she would rather move your date than shoot it in flat light. The wedding work is golden-hour and wide — couples small against a Townsville paddock, a bridal party in denim and mustard on dry grass, a bride and groom on the rocks at Magnetic Island with the sun behind them.

Every collection includes edited images in both colour and black and white.
