Wedding Photographers · Hobart, Tasmania
Sarah Ryan photographed her first wedding in 1997, at eighteen, on the Spirit of Tasmania — and has shot hundreds since. She works from a studio at Dulcot in the Coal River Valley, twenty minutes from Hobart, and the published work runs from a Frogmore Creek barn reception to an elopement at Port Arthur and a highlands wedding near Bothwell.
Candid, and she says so plainly: if candid photography is not your vibe, she is happy to give you some direction to get you there. The coverage is unposed but not hands-off — a first dance under festoon lights, a treat bar nobody arranged for the camera, guests caught mid-shout on the dance floor, then a quiet frame of the dress hanging in the morning light.
Couples around Hobart who want a photographer with three decades behind her and a clear number before they enquire. There is a genuine two-hour elopement option as well as a full day, so a small ceremony is not treated as a lesser booking.
Elopement and micro-wedding coverage starts at $1,500 for two hours and $1,900 for three. The full day is $4,400 and runs from preparation through to the start of the reception, with 400+ edited photos on USB and a 30 page custom album included. She does not publish a turnaround time or a deposit, so ask. She also shoots portraits, priced separately.
The album is in the price. Most photographers at this level sell the book as a separate purchase running well into four figures; here a 30 page custom wedding album is part of the full day collection, alongside an Australian-made archival print and canvas range guaranteed for seventy-five years.
