Eagles Nest Retreat
About
Overview & Vibe
Eagles Nest Retreat sits in the foothills of Mount Roland at West Kentish, half an hour from Devonport, on a property of lakes, wetlands and open paddocks with the mountain filling the horizon. It is a destination venue in the literal sense: the whole wedding party stays, and the packages are priced as one all-inclusive figure rather than per head.
Setting & Style
Four settings, scaling with the guest list. Nest I handles under ten, indoors or by the orchard. Nest II takes up to twenty, either inside behind a five-metre glass wall facing the mountain or down at the lake. Nest III has a stone amphitheatre for up to a hundred. Skyview Wetlands is lakeside under a marquee, central to all three nests, for up to two hundred.
Ideal For
Couples eloping or planning a small destination wedding who would rather buy one package than assemble a dozen suppliers — photography, celebrant, flowers, hair and make-up, cake and catering all come bundled.
The Need-to-Knows
- Packages are whole-event prices, not per head. Elopement for two $7,800; intimate micro wedding to 20 guests $18,900; micro wedding 21–60 guests $38,600; wedding 60–100 guests $49,900. Over 100 is by arrangement, to a maximum of 200.
- Every package above the elopement is non-Saturdays only. The elopement package runs non-Saturday dates September to April and all dates May to August.
- Security deposits sit outside the package price: $500 on the intimate package, $1,000 on the two larger ones.
- Seasonal surcharges for accommodation may apply on top of the package.
- Payment is a 50% non-refundable deposit with the balance 30 days out. Date changes are not permitted, and cancellation inside 30 days carries a 75% fee, inside 14 days 100%.
- Accommodation for the couple plus up to 12 guests across the property is included in the larger packages, with breakfast.
- An “Independent Bride” option gives you the venue and accommodation and leaves the rest to you.
Standout Feature
A stone amphitheatre and a lakeside wetland with Mount Roland behind them, and a package that arrives with the photographer, celebrant and flowers already in it.

Four separate properties are published - Nest I, Nest II, Nest III and The Loft - booked out exclusively for accommodation or events. The Intimate Micro Wedding Package accommodates the bridal couple plus up to 4 guests at Nest II with breakfast; the 21-60 guest package covers the couple plus up to 12 guests across the property with breakfast; the 60-100 guest package includes exclusive use of all accommodation for the couple and between 10 and 12 guests. The elopement package includes two nights with breakfast.
Price Notes
- Eagles Nest Retreat prices weddings as whole-event, all-inclusive packages rather than per head, so no per-head rate is recorded. Numbers greater than 100 can be organised by arrangement, up to a maximum of 200.
- Day-of-week restriction, and it applies to almost everything. All three of the larger packages are marked '(Applicable for non-Saturdays only)'. The Elopement Package is available on 'non-Saturday dates between September - April & All dates during Winter May - August'. A Saturday wedding is not on the published price list at all.
- Security deposits are excluded from the package prices: an additional $500 on the Intimate Micro Wedding Package, and $1,000 on both the Micro Wedding and the Wedding Package. The venue also notes on every package that 'Seasonal surcharges for accommodation may apply'.
- What the packages include is unusually broad. The Elopement Package covers 2 nights accommodation with breakfast, legal paperwork, a celebrant, flower arrangements, a professional photographer with 150 edited images, hair and make-up, witnesses and a 3-course wedding night dinner. The larger packages scale that up - 200, 250 and 350 edited images respectively - and add a wedding cake, grazing table, marquee setup and styling, and a canape or shared feast menu. The Micro Wedding Package for 21-60 guests also includes bar, coolers, toilets, lighting, tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery and glassware for 60, plus the ceremony location fee.
- Accommodation is bundled. The Intimate package houses the bridal couple plus up to 4 guests at Nest II with breakfast; the 21-60 package covers the couple plus up to 12 guests across the property; the 60-100 package includes exclusive use of all accommodation for the couple and between 10 and 12 guests.
- Booking terms: a 50% non-refundable deposit secures the date, with final payment 30 days prior. The venue states that date changes are not permitted. Cancelling more than 30 days out forfeits the deposit; 30 days or less carries a 75% cancellation fee, and 14 days or less 100%.
- An 'Independent Bride' option is offered, where the venue and accommodation are provided and the couple arranges everything else. Six photographers are available to choose from.
