Jackalope is the Mornington Peninsula’s design statement — the jet-black hotel above Willow Creek Vineyard at Merricks North, where a gold-dripped dining room, sculpture-lined drive and vine-wrapped terrace turn a wedding into an art event.
Ceremonies take the expansive outdoor terrace over Willow Creek’s rolling vines for up to 66 seated guests, with floral installations against the hotel’s striking silhouette. Celebrations run through the private dining spaces — 60 seated or 100 cocktail-style — under Doot Doot Doot’s famous ceiling of ten thousand glowing globes, with champagne towers a house signature; larger weddings take a full hotel buyout for exclusive use of the property. The dedicated events team runs the day, and the hotel’s rooms keep the party in-house until checkout.
Design-led couples wanting the peninsula’s most dramatic backdrop — black walls, gold ceilings and vineyard light.
Doot Doot Doot’s ceiling — ten thousand amber globes over the first dance.
