About

Overview & Vibe

Trofeo Estate sits at the end of a tree-lined driveway on 50 acres of vineyard at Dromana, and its reception building is a converted 1930s passionfruit cannery — exposed brick, high ceilings, big windows and timber. Alongside it stands a climate-controlled marquee for larger weddings. The estate is best known in the wine world for growing in terracotta amphorae; for a couple, the draw is a working vineyard with a genuinely unusual building on it.

Setting & Style

Two very different rooms. The Restaurant, inside the restored cannery, is the smaller and more atmospheric — brick walls, festoon light, long timber tables. The Marquee takes up to 200 seated, is fully climate-controlled, opens its sides to the vines, and comes with a hardwood dance floor and its own independent private bar. Ceremonies happen outside among the rows — the estate's own real-wedding galleries show arbours on the lawn and aisles under the gums. There is also a Wine Garden for relaxed, shared-plate gatherings.

Ideal For

Couples who want a Mornington Peninsula vineyard wedding that can scale. A cannery-room dinner and a 200-guest marquee reception are two different weddings on one property, and the estate publishes five real weddings across both. Catering is in-house under an executive chef, and the kitchen is a working restaurant rather than a function kitchen — it runs seasonal menus for the public Thursday to Monday, so you can taste the food before you book.

The Need-to-Knows

No wedding pricing is published: there is no wedding pack or function pack on the site, and the weddings page routes everything to an enquiry form. The published figures belong to the restaurant, not to weddings — notably a $74 per head group grazing menu that applies automatically to groups of 16 and above in the Wine Garden, and a 20% public holiday surcharge. On dietary needs the estate is careful rather than reassuring: it will cater to requirements but states it “cannot guarantee the complete absence of allergens”. There is no accommodation on site. The cellar door and restaurant open Thursday to Monday only, so plan a visit accordingly.

Standout Feature

The cannery. A 1930s industrial building that processed passionfruit, kept as brick and timber rather than rendered over, now holding long tables under strings of light — and a marquee next door for when 200 people need to sit down.

Price Notes

  • NO WEDDING PRICING EXISTS ON THIS DOMAIN. Thirteen PDFs were found and dated; every one is a restaurant, cellar door, wholesale or seasonal-event menu, and there is no wedding or function pack at all. The weddings page ends at an enquiry form and the marquee page promises "tailored packages to suit your specific event needs" without a figure. THE PRICES BELOW ARE RESTAURANT PRICES, NOT WEDDING PRICES, and are recorded because they are current, they indicate the kitchen's level, and the group-dining rule may apply to a small wedding in the Wine Garden. From the Garden/grazing menu (PDF created 4 December 2025): "GROUPS OF 16 AND ABOVE WILL DINE ON OUR $74PP GROUP GRAZING MENU", with an enquiry required for more information, and a kids option at $35 covering a choice of chicken schnitzel, penne napoli or cheeseburger with chips plus a soft drink and ice cream. A la carte garden dishes run roughly $16-$44. From the Winter restaurant menu (created 15 June 2026): two courses $68, and "PUBLIC HOLIDAYS WILL INCUR A 20% SURCHARGE". The Garden menu also states that NO ALTERATIONS CAN BE MADE to it. WHAT THE MARQUEE INCLUDES, from its own feature list: a fully climate-controlled environment for year-round comfort; flexible sides that open; a HARDWOOD DANCE FLOOR; an INDEPENDENT PRIVATE BAR; capacity for lavish floral arrangements; and "Award-Winning Catering... exceptional in-house dining menus crafted by our Executive Chef". THREE SPACES ARE NAMED: The Restaurant, "housed within a beautifully restored heritage building... a sophisticated setting for seated events" with a menu that "can be customised for your function"; The Wine Garden, "for more relaxed gatherings and networking events" with "shared plates and grazing platters"; and The Marquee for up to 200 seated. OPENING HOURS CONSTRAIN SITE VISITS: the cellar door opens Thursday to Monday 10am-5pm, and the restaurant Thursday to Monday for lunch 11:30am-4pm plus Friday evenings 5:30-8pm.
  • THE ESTATE PUBLISHES FIVE REAL WEDDINGS AS FULL CASE STUDIES, each with its own page — Nick & Jacqui (summer marquee), Ashlee & Callum, Sophie & Jack, Romantic Autumn, and Steve & Marie in the gallery. This is unusually transparent for this campaign and worth a couple's time: the photographs show both buildings actually in use rather than styled empty.
