Hermitage Estate is a five-acre private villa and garden retreat at Gleniffer, in the Bellingen hinterland about forty minutes from Coffs Harbour. It is not a function venue in any conventional sense — it hosts elopements and intimate ceremonies only, one booking at a time, with the whole estate handed over to you.

Setting & Style

“Picture exchanging vows amidst lush gardens and manicured lawns, surrounded by vibrant blooms and serene greenery… saying your vows in lush gardens, by a quiet river, or against mountain vistas.” The estate’s own photography shows a formal clipped garden with a stone fountain, a lily pond looking to the ranges, wrought-iron gates under topiary, and an ornamental drive. There is also a fairy-lit gazebo, a staircase through an olive grove, a rainforest path and frontage to the Never Never River.

Ideal For

Two people, or very nearly. This suits couples eloping, or marrying with a handful of guests, who want absolute privacy and to stay on site — the wedding and honeymoon in the same place. It is explicitly a couples retreat, and the estate promises “total and complete confidentiality… for our selective guests, who value their privacy”.
