Wedding Photographers · Mudgee, New South Wales
Stephanie Baddock — Steph — runs Image and Ivory from Mudgee, where she was born and raised, and she is eleven years into the trade. The galleries are the Central West at its best: vineyards in leaf, wheat fields at golden hour, a bride on a clifftop with her veil straight out sideways, marquees strung with lights, confetti on a lawn. A lot of it is shot into the sun.
Candid and natural, in her own words: her style is *“inspired by candid emotion, intimate moments, authentic love, natural landscapes”*, and she admits to being obsessed with epic sunsets. She wants the day *“stress free, natural and as candid as possible”*, and is direct about the relationship she is after: *“You aren’t just a client and I’m not just a vendor, I want to be friends.”*
Couples who want the whole day followed rather than a fixed shot list, and who like the idea of their photographer being good company. The ladder runs from a three-hour elopement to a ten-hour full day, so a small ceremony and a long celebration are served by the same approach. She is a Mudgee local who travels, and she also shoots engagements, portraits, events and lifestyle work.
Five collections, priced on enquiry rather than published: Short & Sweet at up to three hours for elopements and intimate weddings, then Petite Day at four hours, Best Day at six, Perfect Day at eight and Ultimate Day at ten. Every one includes a pre-wedding consultation, an online gallery you can download and share, and a set of 7x5 inch matted prints — four, six, eight or ten depending on the collection. She answers enquiries within 48 hours and keeps office hours Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm.
She married at Burnbrae Wines in Mudgee in autumn 2023, and puts photographs from her own wedding on her site. It is a small thing and a revealing one — a photographer showing you the day she could not shoot herself, in the district she works in, is making a fairly direct argument about knowing what the day feels like from the other side.
