Salt at The Elliot is a restaurant and wine bar on The Strand at Port Elliot, on the Southern Fleurieu coast just over an hour from Adelaide. It is the reception half of a Port Elliot wedding — a modern coastal dining room rather than an estate — and it is candid about that: the ceremony happens elsewhere.
“Modern elegance meets coastal charm” is the venue’s own summary, and its photographs bear it out: a timber-trussed room set with long tables, bentwood chairs and low florals, a full cocktail bar, and a brick-and-glass shopfront lit at dusk under the salt sign. The layout is described as flexible, running from an intimate dinner to a large-scale event.
Couples marrying at Horseshoe Bay or in one of Port Elliot’s churches who want the reception a few minutes away, and who care about the food and the wine list. The kitchen builds a custom menu rather than offering fixed packages, and the venue coordinates suppliers on your behalf.
There is no ceremony space here, and the venue says so plainly — it points you to Horseshoe Bay or the local churches. Nothing is priced and no capacity is published, so both the per-head cost and the room’s limit are first-conversation questions. Note also that the wine bar trades Thursday to Saturday only, and that Salt sits at the Hotel Elliot but is a separate business on a separate domain — rooms are not part of what Salt publishes.
The supplier coordination. “With our extensive network of trusted vendors, we can assist you in coordinating every detail of your wedding, from florists and photographers to musicians and cake decorators.” For a couple marrying away from home on the Fleurieu, having the reception venue act as the local fixer is worth more than another room option.
