Ripples n Tonic Farm
About
Overview & Vibe
A 15-acre working farm near Ventnor Beach on Phillip Island that hires out as a whole — exclusive use of the entire property for 24 hours, 11am to 11am, with seven self-contained cottages sleeping 42 people included in the price. The venue calls itself “a true blank canvas” and means it: you bring the caterer, the food truck or the spit, and the farm supplies the ground, the furniture and the beds.
Setting & Style
Ceremonies go on open lawn under gum trees or beneath a rustic timber arbour; the reception centres on a large covered outdoor kitchen and dining area with a wood-fired pizza oven, BBQ, fridges and a bar, which can be “protected from the elements with the transparent café blinds or opened up”. There is a fire pit with firewood supplied, hay bales, and festoon lighting through the trees. Cattle, sheep, alpacas, horses, chickens, peacocks, goats and pigs are on the property and are part of the experience.
Ideal For
Couples running a relaxed DIY wedding for up to 80 who want everyone to stay the night on site — and for whom a genuinely accessible venue matters.
The Need-to-Knows
- Pricing is published and simple. $4,000 Monday to Thursday, $5,550 Friday to Sunday, for 24-hour exclusive hire including all accommodation. Extra nights are $3,000. A $500 refundable bond applies. Public and school holidays are excluded from these rates.
- Up to 80 guests, with more by arrangement. Crockery, cutlery and glassware are provided for 50, and parties over 40 must hire extra port-a-loos themselves.
- Catering is entirely your call — self-cater, food truck, or full catering. The farm can also provide group breakfasts, BBQ dinners or a spit roast (pig, lamb or goat).
- Every cottage is fully accessible and the property is stocked with accessible equipment — “all you need to bring is your own sling.” It also operates as NDIS short-term accommodation and respite.
- You clean up. The wedding party is responsible for post-event clean-up, though a cleaning service can be arranged. A large skip bin is supplied.
- Parking is about 30 cars in paddocks, weather dependent.
Standout Feature
Exclusive use of a whole farm for 24 hours with beds for 42 people included, from $4,000.

Price Notes
- PRICING IS PUBLISHED IN A TABLE AND IT IS FOR THE WHOLE PROPERTY, NOT PER HEAD. From the Weddings page, 'Package - Venue Hire & Accommodation': 'Weekday Mon-Thurs $4,000 / Weekend Fri-Sun $5,550 / Additional Night Accommodation Any $3,000 per night', each described as a 'Price (24hr hire)'. A caveat follows: '*Please note: Prices exclude public holidays and school holiday periods.' There is no per-head rate anywhere on the site, which is why price_per_head is NULL - the venue does not sell food, so it has nothing to charge per head for.
- WHAT THE 24 HOURS BUYS: 'Each package includes exclusive access to Ripples n Tonic Farm from 11am to 11am the following day plus: Exclusive use of the entire property and facilities / Large outdoor gathering area with rustic kitchen, BBQ and fridges / Fire pit with firewood supplied / Hay bales for added rustic ambience / Outdoor bathtub and table setup for use as a drinks station / Large skip bin for rubbish disposal.'
- ACCOMMODATION FOR 42 IS INCLUDED IN THE HIRE FEE, NOT EXTRA. 'Exclusive use of all accommodation is included in your wedding booking. 7 self-contained cottages sleeping up to 42 guests. All bedding, linen and towels included. Toiletries provided: shampoo, conditioner, hand & body soap, toilet paper.' This is what makes the headline figure competitive - $4,000 covers the venue and the beds.
- FURNITURE AND STYLING INCLUDED: 'Use of chairs and white chair covers with navy blue sashes / Six large wooden tables for dining or styling / Plastic crockery, cutlery and glassware for up to 50 guests / Additional plastic chairs are available for outdoor seating.' Note the crockery covers 50 and the guest ceiling is 80 - a gap the couple has to fill.
- TWO COSTS FALL ON THE WEDDING PARTY AND BOTH ARE STATED PLAINLY. 'Wedding party responsible for post-event clean-up (cleaning service available upon request)' and 'For any parties larger than 40 guests, additional port-a-loos will need to be hired and arranged by the Wedding party.' A '$500 refundable bond - fully returned pending no damages or excessive cleaning' also applies.
- CATERING IS COMPLETELY OPEN AND THE FARM WILL COOK IF ASKED. From the Weddings page: 'We happily recommend local caterers, photographers, and other wedding vendors... Whether you want to self-cater, bring in a food truck, or opt for full catering, we're flexible to accommodate your wishes.' From the Functions & Events page: 'Group breakfasts can be provided as well as BBQ dinners or spit animals (pig, lamb or goat). For more substantial catering, there are many contractors on the Island to cater for your individual needs that we can assist you with.' NO DIETARY POSITION IS STATED ANYWHERE and no menu is published, which is why dietary_options_supported is NULL - the venue is not the caterer.
- THE PROPERTY IS FULLY ACCESSIBLE AND THIS IS UNUSUAL ENOUGH TO BE A HEADLINE. 'All cottages are also fully accessible. We are well set up and stocked with accessible equipment - all you need to bring is your own sling.' The site carries dedicated Accessible Accommodation, NDIS STA/Respite, Accessible Equipment Gallery and Social Story pages. Ripples n Tonic is the first venue in this campaign to publish a social story.
- PARKING IS INFORMAL: 'Parking: Approx. 30 cars in paddocks (weather dependent)'. Security is noted too: 'Secure & Private: Keyless entry for cottages and code-secured front gate'.
- THE ACCOMMODATION BREAKDOWN, from the Functions & Events page: 'The property has 2 x 3-bedroom cottages, 3 x 2-bedroom cottages, and 1 x 1-bedroom cottage. The 3-bedroom cottage sleeps up to 9 people, while the 2-bedroom cottages sleep up to 6 people. The 2-bedroom Shearer's Retreat accommodates up to 4 people, and the studio cottage accommodates up to 2 people.'
- NO STRUCTURED PRICING DATA - the Squarespace pages carry no ld+json offer block.
- A CRAWL NOTE. The site was recorded in Batch 158 as failing with CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED. That is a CERTIFICATE error rather than a handshake failure, so the fix is a relaxed context (check_hostname=False, verify_mode=CERT_NONE) - which returns 200 immediately. Do not confuse it with the Millwood Lane case (B187), where the handshake itself failed and the answer was plain http://. The image pool is also large and mostly irrelevant: 201 images site-wide, of which roughly 170 are cottage interiors across seven accommodation sub-pages. Crawl the weddings, functions and farm-gallery pages only. One file, 'stock-photo-25737780-black-angus-cow-and-calf.jpg', is bought stock and was excluded by filename.
