Lancaster Wines sits on West Swan Road beside the Swan River, in the heart of the Swan Valley half an hour from Perth. It is known for its outdoor tasting shed and its vineyard setting, and it hires the property out for weddings in the evening — 5.30pm to 11pm, after the cellar door closes.
Setting & Style
The shed and the vines are the venue. A casual stand-up reception with a gourmet BBQ works as well as a traditional sit-down under a marquee or in the open air, and photographs can be taken anywhere on the property — through the vineyard rows, along the tree-lined drive, or around the cellar door. Drinks come from the estate; everything else is yours to bring.

Couples who want a Swan Valley vineyard evening and are happy to build the day themselves — bringing their own caterer, marquee and hire — with the bar handled.
The Need-to-Knows
- You supply almost everything. The brochure is explicit: all catering, music, gazebo, marquee, chairs and cutlery are to be provided by you. Lancaster provides the venue and the drinks.
- Weddings run 5.30pm to 11pm, and the ceremony or reception must be away from, or outside, normal cellar door hours of 10am to 5pm. Setting up during the day is fine.
- Venue hire as published: $1,500 for 50+ guests, $2,500 for up to 50. That reads backwards — see the pricing note — but it is what the brochure states on the line.
- Drinks packages are $65 or $75 per person for four hours, each including wine, sparkling and two beers; an extra hour is $10 per person.
- A 30% deposit is due within 7 days of booking, with final payment 14 days before.
- On-site parking is available.

Price Notes
- Lancaster publishes a wedding brochure dated November 2025. Venue hire is quoted in two bands, and as printed they read counterintuitively: '50 + pax - $1500' and 'Up to 50 pax - $2500'. That ordering was checked against the PDF's own text layout rather than assumed - the labels and prices sit on the same lines, so the smaller wedding really is quoted at the higher figure. A plausible reading is a minimum-spend structure, since a smaller wedding still takes the venue for the evening, but the brochure does not explain it. Both figures recorded as printed.
- Drinks are the only catering the venue provides. The Premium package is $65 per person for four hours - one white, sparkling, one red, one full strength beer and one light beer. The Deluxe package is $75 per person, adding a second white, a second red and an international or craft beer. An additional hour on either is $10 per person.
- What you must supply yourself is stated plainly: 'All catering, music, gazebo, marquee, chairs, cutlery etc. to be provided by you.' This is a venue-and-bar hire rather than a packaged wedding.
- Timing is constrained by the working cellar door. Weddings run 5:30pm to 11pm, and the brochure states the ceremony or reception must be located away from, or outside of, normal cellar door operating hours of 10am to 5pm. Preparation for the event can be made during the day. On-site parking is available.
