Wallaroo Estate
About
Overview & Vibe
Wallaroo Estate is a family-owned country house retreat on three hundred acres of farmland and vineyard in the Hills of Hall, in the Canberra District wine country just over the NSW border from the capital.
Setting & Style
The estate sells privacy rather than a package. Book a wedding here and you and your guests get exclusive access to the whole property, to design the day however you like — the owners describe it as a blank canvas, with no formulas, time slots or restrictions. At its centre is a Georgian-style homestead, finished in 1995 but built to look a century older, filled with Japanese antiques and English china collected while the owners worked as journalists in Asia. The twenty-five acre vineyard was planted in 1995 and 1996 with Shiraz, Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon, and the views run west to the Brindabella Ranges. Most couples book the homestead for three or four days, giving them time to set up, marry, and stay on afterwards with family and friends.
Ideal For
Couples who want a whole property to themselves for several days, and who would rather style everything their own way than choose from a package.
The Need-to-Knows
- Weddings get exclusive access to the estate — every wedding is bespoke, with no set time slots.
- The homestead has four main queen bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a fifth accessible ground-floor bedroom at additional cost.
- Guest numbers, packages and pricing are not published — the estate quotes on enquiry.
- You can self-cater or the estate can arrange caterers for you.
- Wedding enquiries go to a separate address from general contact.
Standout Feature
Complete exclusivity on a working three-hundred-acre estate, with the homestead available for a multi-day stay rather than a few hours' hire.

On Site Accommodation
- The Georgian-style homestead sleeps the wedding party on site and can be booked in its entirety for a private stay. It has four main queen guest bedrooms and three bathrooms, one of them an ensuite, with a fifth accessible bedroom on the ground floor available at additional cost. Every bedroom looks out over either the Brindabella Ranges or the vineyard. The house includes a fully fitted original kitchen made with reclaimed wood, a dining room and two living areas, three indoor fireplaces, central heating and air-conditioning, free WiFi, professional linen and towels, a coffee machine, flat screen smart TV, washing machine, and a BBQ and firepit outside. Most wedding couples book it for three to four days.
Price Notes
- Wedding pricing is not published; the estate quotes on enquiry through a dedicated weddings email address. What is published is the commercial shape of a booking: a wedding takes exclusive access to the whole Wallaroo Estate, and every wedding is treated as bespoke with no formulas, time slots or restrictions. The estate describes itself as a blank canvas with some inclusions provided. Most couples book the homestead for three to four days rather than a single day, allowing time for set-up, the wedding itself, and to stay on with family and friends afterwards, and couples decorate and style the property to their own taste. Catering is flexible — couples may self-cater or the estate can arrange caterers on their behalf. The homestead's fifth accessible ground-floor bedroom is available at an additional cost over the four main queen bedrooms.
