Jason has photographed weddings for about ten years, from big parties to small ceremonies, and now works out of Townsville across north Queensland. He shoots the day as it happens rather than arranging it: the groomsmen cutting price tags off their jackets, the in-laws mid-laugh, the speeches going off script, the dance floor late on. Full-day coverage usually runs about ten hours and he does not put the camera down until the day is done.
Candid and documentary, built for couples who want to be present with their people instead of performing for a lens all day. Film is available as an add-on, shot on a 1977 Nikon.
Couples marrying around Townsville and Magnetic Island, and up through the tropical north to Mission Beach, Palm Cove, Cairns and Port Douglas. The elopement collection suits gatherings of up to twenty. Couples who want the loose, funny, unposed half of the day recorded as carefully as the ceremony will recognise the work.
Three wedding collections: an elopement package, an eight-hour package running from preparations through the ceremony to the early reception, and ten-hour full-day coverage. Albums, an engagement session and the film add-on are priced separately. A deposit secures the date and the balance falls due a month before. Sneak peeks land within a week and the full gallery within four.
Nothing is buried in fine print: the packages, the add-ons and the payment split are all spelled out, and if a day runs differently, with an earlier start, a later finish or extra locations, he builds the coverage around it rather than charging against a template.
